STONEHAM clubman Alan Mew will help make a piece of golfing history this week when he plays in the European Seniors Tour's first ever tournament in Egypt.
The Jolie Ville Sharm El Sheikh Seniors Open gets under way today, with former Hampshire champion Mew in a strong field which includes another county favourite, ex-Ryder Cup man Peter Dawson, who is now coaching in France.
Four teenagers took the first five places in the prestigious Hampshire Rose at North Hants where 17-year-old Hannah Burke (Mid Herts) took the honours.
Hannah fired rounds of 69 and 72 to win by three shots from Hannah Barwood (Knowle). Former winner Kerry Smith (Waterlooville) was Hampshire's best finisher with 149 (73 76), which was only good enough for a tie for eighth place.
