HARRY REDKNAPP thinks Saints would be "home and hosed" if they would have held on to their two goal leads this season.

The Saints boss was in reflective mood after his side fought back from 1-0 down to earn a priceless point against Bolton last night.

Kevin Phillips struck in the second half to grab Saints a share of the spoils and to lift them out of the bottom three - at least for the time being with West Brom needing a draw or a win at Tottenham tonight to leapfrog Saints again.

But Saints couldn't have done a lot more for their cause in such a tough game.

Redknapp said: "It was a great point - if only we'd have got those three on Saturday we'd be in great shape.

"We changed the system first half and we had difficulty getting out, but they were good. They played some great football and would have penned anyone back.

"But second half we picked it up, started to get into the game and you could see a goal coming, and it did."

Redknapp feels Saints are still counting the cost of throwing away two goal leads against Middlesbrough, Everton and Aston Villa.

All three games were at St Mary's and, from commanding positions in all three, Saints ended up with just two points.

Redknapp added: "Every point's going to count.

"We've only had two bad performances since I came here - the second half against Birmingham and Black-burn - the problem is we've given valuable leads away.

"If you look at the points we've thrown away, we should be home and hosed, looking forward to getting on the beaches and enjoying our holidays in the summer.

"We've got to show the spirit we did last night now.

"We're out of the bottom three and we wait for results today - we've just got to keep going."
