THE most talked about band in British music has been confirmed as the latest top act at this year's Nokia Isle of Wight Festival.
Baby Shambles, fronted by the controversial former Libertines singer Pete Doherty will headline on the Saturday alongside Morrissey, Roxy Music and the Goldie Lookin' Chain.
Other confirmed acts include Faithless and Razorlight, who headline on Friday, and American rock giants REM who close the festival on the Sunday.
Baby Shambles have not even released an album yet, but have already been tipped for greatness by the country's top music magazines. Pete Doherty formed the band after being dumped by The Libertines because of his drug problem.
He has also conducted a high-profile liaison with model Kate Moss.
Tickets for the Isle of Wight Festival, which runs from June 10 to 12, have nearly sold out. All-day tickets for the Sunday have been sold, while there are just a few weekend passes left. More than 30,000 fans are expected at this year's event held at Newport's Sea Close Park.
The festival, now in its fifth year since being revived, also includes an extreme sports village, a unique Bollywood Cocktail bar and an all new Kids Zone.
