SOUTH coast Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle dealer Pentagon is celebrating again, after two more members of its team won national recognition from the manufacturer.

Glynn Lawrence was named Britain's top-performing Mitsubishi Canter Sales Specialist - the Mercedes dealer network also retails and supports the popular Japanese light truck range in the UK - and James Walters took the Mercedes-Benz Van Sales Newcomer of the Year title.

Their successes come shortly after Pentagon's Barrie Rawlins won the Mercedes-Benz Van Sales Manager of the Year award.

Glynn is based at Pentagon's Andover depot, from where he also covers the dealer's other sites in Southampton, Fareham and Poole. He has been responsible for Canter sales since he joined Pentagon in 2002, but last year was his best yet.

"I sold more than 60 trucks and had a lot of success with builders, gardeners, tree surgeons and the like," he says.

Glynn, who lives in Winchester, has been in the truck and van sales business since 1978.

Van sales executive James moved into his current role in 2003, having previously worked in Pentagon's parts and service departments. He is now based at Pentagon's Southampton Van Sales Centre.

James lives in Chichester and is a member of Hayling Island Kite Surf Club. He also won a Gold Award and a cruise holiday in the West Indies from the Mercedes-Benz Van Sales Academy for exceeding 125 per cent of his sales target for 2004.

Other members of the Pentagon van sales team to win Gold Awards included Andover-based John Jamieson and Kevin Downham, who works from Fareham.
