WALHAMPTON professional Kevin Saunders and amateur partner Terry Drake (Meon Valley) won the Alliance Bowl on countback at a blustery Tidworth Garrison.
The Bowl is one of the long-established events on the Hampshire Alliance circuit and the winners managed to complete 18 holes without a bogey on their card.
But their +3 score for the four-ball better-ball bogey was matched by Neil Stephenson and Colin Herring (Corhampton) and guest Barry Forster and Mick Clay (Rowlands Castle).
The all-amateur section saw Barry Norgate (Alresford) and Dave Dyson (Royal Winchester) win with +2.
Saunders and Drake are respectively the captain and vice captain of the Hampshire Alliance of professional and amateur golfers.
