MICHELDEVER completed a notable double on Saturday when they followed up their 1-0 midweek victory over Division 3 leaders Colden Common with a 3-2 success against second-placed Hampshire Intermediate Cup finalists Farnborough North End.
Two-goal Paul Nelson and Mark Green blasted Micheldever into a 3-0 lead inside 21 minutes before Paul Griffiths replied for the title hopefuls from the penalty spot just before half-time.
Two minutes after the restart, keeper Scott Durran saved another Griffiths spot-kick and, although Lee Warne quickly made it 3-2, the home side hung on.
That result means that Common storm six points clear at the summit following their 6-1 defeat of Clanfield.
On target were two-goal Richard Lang - who was later sent off for two yellow cards - James Atterbury (penalty), Joe Hodge, Dean Higgins and substitute Simon Waters.
A Danny Edwards header from a James Banks corner after an hour and a cool Jamie Nash finish from Rob Fox's through ball 15 minutes later steered third-placed Otterbourne to a 2-0 home win against Fleet Spurs.
With games in hand, Hayling are still breathing down the Otters' necks after strikes by Tom Chapman (2), Aaron Wright and Dave Goldring earned them a 4-1 victory over Verwood.
