KEITH and Catherine Gosney, who run Cards for all Occasions in The Marsh, Hythe, are backing the Daily Echo's campaign to save the Hythe ferry.
Catherine said: "When people use the ferry they walk through the village and often pop into the shops.
"If the ferry closes they will go to Southampton by car and won't necessarily come through the shopping area.
"The ferry is an important part of Hythe's heritage and is also what makes Hythe what it is today.
"Every customer has signed the Daily Echo petition to save the service."
