EX Take That hunk Mark Owen is having another shot at musical solo success, and his latest attempt will bring him to the Wedgewood Rooms in Southsea on Wenesday 27 April.
The pint-sized performer launched a solo career after the heartbreaking demise of Take That, with the release of his debut album Green Man in 1996.
Despite continuing with his songwriting he disappeared from the limelight and was at a low point in his life when, in 2002, he was asked to appear in Celebrity Big Brother. His boyish good looks and genuine charm won over the avid audience, and he was crowned champion.
Things began to look up for Mark, with his next single, Four Minute Warning making it into the top 5.
But nothing runs smoothly in the world of showbiz, and he gradually faded into the background once more.
Now he is hoping for another chance to be taken seriously as a songwriter and performer, with his third solo album, How The Mighty Fall, released on Monday.
He must be praying that his career doesn't again reflect his album title.
Tickets £12.50. Box office: 023 9286 3911.
