APPEAL bosses are 'selling bricks' to raise cash for the £325,000 fundraising campaign to upgrade Romsey's Abbey United Reformed Church.
The 'buy a brick' session will be staged in the town's Cornmarket a week tomorrow (St George's Day) April 23rd.
It is all part of the All Welcome Project aimed at modernising the Victorian Church and ensuring everyone including the disabled has access to the town centre building.
There will also be stalls in the Cornmarket selling all sorts of goodies and the proceeds will go towards the appeal.
Bricks will be sold for a £1 a piece and there will be refreshments at the Church while the day's fundraising takes place.
Several thousand bricks are needed for the enhancement work.
And the following day (Sunday April 24th) the Church Hall will be open for teas and people planning to donate cash towards the All Welcome Project will be able to view the plans.
The modernisation of the Church Hall includes a new kitchen, toilet facilities, a storage area and disabled access.
Alterations to the church itself include an improved entrance area, a small kitchen, loos and a crche.
Spokeswoman for the Abbey United Reformed Church, Molly Macaulay, said: "This is an opportunity for the people of Romsey to help raise our target of £325,000 for this venture.
"A dedicated team, volunteering time and skills have been working to ensure the Abbey United Reformed Church can serve the people of Romsey."
