HOW well do you know Romsey? Well you can find out during Romsey Tourist Information Centre's open day on St George's Day.
The Church Street-based information centre is staging a series of activities and events from 9.30am until 5pm. The main theme of the day will be "So you think you know Romsey?"
There will be free guided tours of the town at 10.15 and 11.30am. People are advised to book a place on this event because the maximum number is 20 people a time.
And another good reason to visit Romsey on St George's Day is to explore the Heritage Centre Museum and King John's House - free of charge.
A photo competition is also being staged at the tourist information centre.
Bosses at tourist attractions such as Broadlands House at Romsey, Houghton Lodge Gardens at Houghton, the Museum of Army Flying at Middle Wallop, Romsey Rapids, Paultons Park at Ower, Romsey's Serendipity Sams play centre, Finkley Down Farm at Andover and Whitchurch Silk Mill have donated prizes.
Romsey TIC boss Chris Whittall said: "The main purpose of the day is simply to encourage both local people and visitors to improve their knowledge of Romsey and the wider Test Valley area with its variety of top attractions.
"We are grateful for all the support we have had putting the day together, but particularly from the Heritage Centre, Anne Beggs of Romsey Guided Walks and the tourist attractions mentioned. Finally we look forward to seeing all those interested on Saturday, April 23rd and trust everyone will find the day both enjoyable and informative."
Anyone who would like more information or would like to reserve a place on the guided walks is asked to phone (01794) 512987.
