HAMPSHIRE Under-20s are just two games away from a return visit to Twickenham and will start as slight favourites when they travel to south west pool victors Oxfordshire for their quarter-final on Sunday.

But they have been hit by injuries to two key players with scrum-half Riaan Dohne and Southampton University lock Adrian Tomsa both absent from the squad.

Trojans' Adrian Rose moves from fly-half to scrum-half to cover for the standing-down captain as Dan Neville is back in harness at number ten, while Wessex student Chris Davies is restored to the second row.

The big boost for Hampshire, however, is that prop Lloyd Staszkiewicz, who has been out for over two months, returns to captain the side after surgeons gave him the all clear to play after he took a full part in the county training session the day previously.

Manager Peter Allen is disappointed to have lost the influential Dohne and the useful Tomsa but he is confident, given the draw and the way they performed against the tough Army opposition in the last pool game.

"We are going into this game fairly confident," he said. "We have the easier of the draws as Oxford lost a game on their way to qualification so we are expecting to win at Gosford All Blacks.

"And I am pleased with the side we picked - a good solid pack with a great set of backs. I feel this is a better side than the one that won the championship in 2002."
