CHRIS TREMLETT insisted that Hampshire were still positive about their chances of beating Gloucestershire.
Hampshire made up for a bad first day by restricting Gloucestershire to a 24-run lead, but were 111 for 6 in their second innings last night and staring a three-day loss in the face.
Tremlett said: "It was a funny old day but hopefully we can come back again and do the business.
"One of our strengths is that we are always positive, that's what Shane Warne has been drumming into us.
"Hopefully we can score another 70-100 runs and if we do that I'm sure we'll be in with a chance because the wicket is deteriorating. It's never easy to bat here in the fourth innings
"When we bowl we just have to be patient, if we are them the wickets will fall for us. One thing for sure is that we'll never give up, no matter what situation we find ourselves in. We've got a captain who backs his batsmen and his bowlers and we're still in this."
