WHAT do Billy Connolly, Kiki Dee, Barbara Dickson, Hue & Cry and Leo Sayer all have in common?
They've all covered songs written by the hugely talented singer/songwriter Michael Marra, who is performing tomorrow night, at 8pm, at the Forest Arts Centre in New Milton.
'Marra the Man' formed his first band, Hens Teeth, with Dougie McLean in the early 1970s, achieving critical and artistic success. Eventually they went their separate ways and Michael struck out as a solo performer with several albums to his name.
Michael Marra's music can be folk, pop, big band, blues or country, but all compositions have his unique signature upon them and are unmistakable.
He's been called one of Scotland's best-kept secrets and is lyrically rooted in Scottish culture and history.
Tickets £9. Box office: 01425 612393.
