MEMBERS at Stoneham are reclining in the comfort of a newly refurbished clubhouse.
Visitors won't recognise the place. One large bar has been created from two smaller ones and the men-only bar has gone, replaced by a small meeting room/private dining room.
One small but important element of the structural changes was to create a welcoming entrance to replace the caste doors that were there previously. Light oak has been used throughout the design and furniture chosen to match the wood with a rich colour palette and the installation of new, controlled lighting lay-out completing the picture.
Stoneham club manager Richard Penley-Martin said: "After a gap of nearly 25 years and two years of planning, we have created a modern, comfortable atmosphere to provide the environment the members wanted and friendly surroundings that visitors I'm sure will appreciate. My thanks go to all the local companies who were involved in the work."
