Eastleigh'S Summer Music Festival is to "go Glastonbury" by setting up camping areas.
Pitches for up to 200 campers will be made available in the town's Fleming Park for the four-day event in August.
Organiser Peter Chegwyn said there would be some changes to last year's festival which saw thousands of people flock to the town to see the likes of Will Young, Dionne Warwick, Bill Wyman and Rolf Harris.
"Crucially, it's a four-day festival rather than a series of evening concerts, which is what we have done before."
"Obviously it won't be as big as Glastonbury but we will be able to accommodate a couple of hundred campers in Fleming Park.
"Locals can buy weekend season tickets. If they pay £50 they can see all the concerts over the event."
Peter explained that this year's event, which is scheduled for August 4 to August 7, would appeal to a festival audience rather than just trying to rely on big names.
"We want it to be popular with Eastleigh residents and the local community," he said. "It will still be a family event, and there will be workshops for children with face painting and teaching music skills."
"I think we've established the event as one with a very friendly atmosphere."
The Proclaimers, The Undertones and Kosheen are the three bands headlining the event.
The Proclaimers, famous for their single 'I'm gonna be (500 miles), are also playing at the world-famous Glastonbury Festival this year. The Undertones will be providing rock fans with something special at the festival, and are currently preparing for their USA tour, which starts this week.
Dance-trio Kosheen are set to play at the festival on Friday, August 5.
One of the event's main highlights is expected to be the return of Rolf Harris.
The Aussie entertainer has proved himself to be a firm favourite with Eastleigh residents at past festivals with his unique 'Rock 'n' Rolf' show.
The first day of the festival will also be a fundraising event for the incoming mayor's two local charities, Home Start and Hamble Inshore Lifeboat Appeal.
It has been heralded ' Madness meets Pink Floyd' by opening night organiser Kim Garner. For more information on this year's festival and to book tickets, visit www.eastfest.co.uk
