HOW do you turn an unprofitable, declining business into the most successful of its genre?
A breakfast meeting organised by the regional branch of the Institute of Directors on Thursday, April 14, will reveal all.
Guest speaker is John Oliver OBE, who rescued Leyland Trucks from receivership to be voted the Best Engineering Factory in the UK.
John said the key to Leyland's success was the development of new concepts in employee involvement and empowerment, and this is what he'll talk through with his audience in an hour-long presentation.
The meeting is the first of a new series of IoD 'Big Breakfasts' in the Hampshire area. They will be held every other month at venues in either the north or south of the county, with guest speakers of national or even international repute.
The breakfast with John Oliver is at the Marriott Hotel (M27, Junction 12) and is being booked by both members and those yet to become members.
The next one is on June 1 in Basingstoke, featuring the marketing guru Barry Urquhart, who will be on a flying visit to the UK.
Bookings are being taken on 023 8047 3500 or online at www.iod.com/hampshire for £15 per person.
