ERNST & Young, one of the UK's leading professional service companies, celebrates 100 years of service in Southampton this week.
Opened in 1905, the office was founded by Fred Woolley, a member of the Society of Incorporated Accountants and Auditors.
The Southampton firm, renamed Woolley & Waldron in 1925, merged with Whinney Murray in 1977, becoming Ernst & Young in 1989.
The Threefield Lane-based office now employs 125 people.
John Liddell, office managing partner, said: "Looking back over the years its transformation from a humble one-man concern into a bustling corporate centre is a fascinating story of how business has changed and how E&Y has adapted to meet new challenges."
