OTTERBOURNE'S Nick Jennings made light of his ten-point handicap to take an early lead in the new £1,000 Under-21 Roll-Up at Chandler's Ford SC.
The 13-year-old only dropped one frame on his way to the final and knocked in the best break of the day, a fine 72 clearance, in his quarter-final win over Mark McLean, 20.
Now playing the top juniors in Southampton off scratch, the youngster showed true class to beat Alex Dunkley, 16, in a five-frame final.
Dunkley slotted in breaks of 51 and 57 in a first-round win over Lee Roling, 14, before dispatching 16-year-olds Ryan Mears and Peter Maraziotis.
Jack Hyom, 14, beat Roling in the plate final to move into sixth.
The Southern England Cuestars tour moved on to Swindon for the big money Easter Masters and Southampton boys again starred.
Dan Hildyard, 14, who travels to Walsall on April 17 to face Woking's Dan Sloan for a place in the last eight of the EASB U15 nationals, won £125 for an excellent run to the final.
The Fair Oak lad moves into third spot, just one point behind Eastleigh's England International Mike Finn.
Nick Jennings had runs of 68, 52, 54 and 51 on the way to the semi-final and picked up £60, but drops to ninth.
Bursledon's Alex Dunkley pocketed £45 and smashed in breaks of 79, 61, 54 and 53 on the way to victory in the plate after losing in the first round.
