Andover town centre saw more than 450 people sign a Liberal Democrat petition against the proposed cuts in NHS staffing in the Winchester and Eastleigh Healthcare Trust and the Mid Hampshire Primary Care Trust in just over two hours on Saturday morning.
Martin Tod, Lib/Dem prospective parliamentary candidate for North West Hampshire, said: "This shows how angry people are about the proposed cuts.
"We keep hearing about all the extra money Labour has promised to the NHS, but this doesn't match up to the threat of cuts that we are hearing about from local NHS management.
