POST Office use is said to be in decline nationally but the facility in Andover seems to be more popular than ever.
While the continued heavy use of the branch may help guarantee its future, at some time the queues can mean a very long wait - especially for those using up scarce lunch-hour time.
The situation has come to the attention of Andover MP Sir George Young who was shocked to see the sight of so many people queuing outside the building one morning.
"It is really good news that so many people are using the main Post Office in Bridge Street, but the queues are getting longer and longer," said Sir George.
"I am in touch with the Post Office to see if more stations can be opened to cope with the demand." Sue Dakin, from the Post Office, said: "We will be responding to Sir George's inquiry in detail in due course.
