A NEW exhibition at the Mus-eum of Army Flying aims to give a taste of what life might have been like for millions of people during the blitz.
Set in 1940 the exhibition is called simply No 7 Rose Cottage - as vulnerable to the blitz as thousands of other little houses in the country.
In the bedroom an Army greatcoat lies on the bed next to a stone hot water bottle. In the kitchen a basket of pegs sits beneath a mangle with the week's cheese and butter ration on a nearside table.
Outside an Anderson shelter stands ready for the next air raid. Eric's 1939 Norton motorcycle stands alongside and someone has forgotten to shut the door of the 'thunderbox'.
