IT'S hard keeping kids entertained.

Most mums and dads have buried their heads in their hands as the weary-looking party clown they've hired is showed with fairy cakes by a platoon of bored kids.

So just how do you keep the little rug rats smiling?

What's On has the answer! Take them to see Scooby-Do at The Mayflower in Southampton, you'll be amazed.

It's not often you find hundreds of children all happily sat together for nearly two hours contentedly laughing away, but that was the utopian vision mums and dads witnessed with dropped jaws on Thursday night at The Mayflower.

On top of being a tried and tested kids' pleaser Scooby-Doo in Stagefright is also a box office record breaker. The show has sold more tickets this week than any other seven-day run production at the theatre - including Jason and His Techicolour Dreamcoat.

As you'd expect the story isn't comparable to say a Harry Potter novel, where parents can enjoy themselves just as much as the kids. It's just a simple tale about Scooby and the rest of the gang solving a spooky mystery at a movie studio.

With loads of cast interaction, a loveable, costumed Scooby-Do and the most life-like Shaggy you'll ever find, there wasn't a child in The Mayflower that didn't have a smile of their face.

Tickets are still on sale so get one while you can!

Scooby-Do in Stagefright runs at The Mayflower until Sunday. Tickets from £12.50.
