STUDENTS and staff are certainly on the ball at Brighton Hill Community College after being handed the prestigious FA Charter Standard for a second time.
The award, first given to the Basingstoke sports college three years ago by Hampshire Football Association, marks its continued commitment to developing young footballers.
Jason Palmer, who is in charge of football development at the college, said he is delighted that Brighton Hill has been awarded the charter again for its quality football programme.
Mr Palmer said: "We're very proud to receive the charter - it's thanks and recognition from Hampshire FA for the work we've been doing at the school.
"The award shows we're fulfilling what we should be doing - and beyond - with the very good standard of work we are achieving, as well as teaching and providing opportunities for games."
The FA Charter Standard scheme aims to raise the quality and safety of football provision and reward best practice for encouraging more people to play football and develop skills.
It shows parents and children that clubs and schools receiving the award have achieved the required standards laid down by the FA.
Mr Palmer added: "The award wouldn't have been gained without the commitment of both students and PE staff.
