YOUNGSTERS on a Hampshire housing estate are making the most of having their own youth worker for the very first time.
Ann McDonald, pictured second left, has been working in Netley View near Hythe for six months and has been kept busy organising a host of activities.
Sessions have been held throughout the Easter holidays, often attracting up to 40 children keen to do something fun and productive on the estate.
Ann, employed by The Hythe and Dibden Youth Trust charity, said: "It's been going great. We have done so much all over the Easter holidays. Without it we would all be sitting at home."
Ann is especially proud of nine of the older teenage girls who have been working towards an adapted play work certificate which will enable them to help out with the younger children.
Serena Grieve, 14, a student at Applemore College, said: "I come along because there is nothing else to do around the streets. It's good to help all the other kids.
"We play games and do arts and crafts stuff and the kids come along and have a good time."
