FORMER Hampshire champion Chris Hudson led his Army team to victory in the Hampshire Alliance's Stanley Hunt Challenge Bowl at Dibden.
The competition, now played as a pro-am Stableford with two out of four scores to count, saw Southwood assistant professional Hudson and his partners Geoff Keet, Alan Green and Geoff Hawkins run up a score of 86 points - three more than Hockley's Gary Stubbington with Dave Mecklenburgh, Doug Peacock and Peter Wright from Southwick Park.
Hudson's round included an eagle and four birdies, while his amateurs added another four gross birdies to finish an equivalent of 14 under par.
Hudson took the prize as best professional with 35 points, one ahead of Rob Edwards (Lee-on-the-Solent), with Stubbington, Kevin Saunders (Wallhampton) and Scott Shibley (Army) sharing third.
