DUNWOOD Manor duo Katie Mundy and Laura-Jane Mabley are among the leading lights in the Hampshire Junior Golf Championship at Barton on Sea on Friday.
Defending champion Annabel Silk is now at a golfing scholarship in the USA so a new champion will be crowned this week.
Both Dunwood players are off single-figure handicaps along with Olivia Higgins (Royal Jersey), Raffi Dyer (Hayling) and Tracey Wilmot (Liphook), who has the lowest handicap of five.
Four of those players will be in Jackie Keay's full Hampshire side for a pre-season friendly match against a Hockley men's team next week.
But missing will be the 2004 county champion Sarah White from Cams Hall, who is still recovering from damaging both knees in a winter skiing accident.
Her injuries were serious and it's unlikely that Sarah will be able to defend her county title at Basingstoke on May 23-27.
