HAMPSHIRE'S newest recycling centre has been formally unveiled almost three months after it first began operating.
Pictured performing the ceremony is Councillor Keith Estlin, right, Hampshire County Council Executive Member for the Environment, helped by Kevin Hopkins, managing director of Hopkins Recycling.
The Household Recycling Centre at Bar End, Winchester, replaces the former depot in the city's Garnier Road and has been designed to make recycling easier for residents.
The £1m centre has been built with an access road around the outside to facilitate the delivery of glass, plastics, or garden waste.
In the middle of the circular outer road are up to a dozen bins and skips where recyclable waste can be dropped off.
A spokesman for Hampshire County Council, which funded the project, said the centre had so far proved a success with far more people using it than at the previous location.
