STANBRIDGE Earls School is celebrating the success of its recent first ever Under-13s rugby 7s tournament.
Teams from Hampshire and Wiltshire schools gathered there and displayed an impressive range of skills and a real enthusiasm for the game.
The teams came from Ballard School, Boundary Oak, Durlston Court, Norman Court and Sandroyd.
The event attracted interest both locally and nationally. Hildon Ltd kindly donated mineral water for all the players, while the RFU provided 'goody-bags' for all those involved.
The overall winners were Sandroyd, who beat Norman Court 41-0 in the final, while Ballard beat Durlston Court 19-0 to take the Plate.
The success of the competition was testament to Stanbridge's commitment to sport and to the hard work and dedication of its sports staff.
"We were delighted with the response to our first festival," said Grant Taylor, Head of Sport at Stanbridge Earls.
"It was great to see such enthusiasm among the teams and our thanks go to all involved for making it such a success. We are already looking forward to next year!"
