lWimborne Angling Club have just taken control of a superb new venue at Edmonsham.
The very pretty venue, which used to be a trout fishery, looks set to mature into something special for club members.
An original stocking of roach and skimmers a few weeks ago has been supplemented by 200lb of quality unfished-for bream to 2lb 8oz from New Forest stocking specialists Heather Fisheries.
Already holding a good head of tench, the venue should produce reasonable sport this summer but it will be a gradual increase of fish stocks over the coming years that will really benefit the water as it matures.
lRingwood and District AA have also been busy on the stocking front with 300lb of bream to 2lb 8oz stocked into the Wash Pit at Ringwood to supplement a similar weight of 3lb carp stocked last autumn.
The club continue to build a big head of cormorant-proof stock in the Wash Pit as they continue to develop as a mixed fishery for members.
The club has already ordered a similar stocking of bream for the Wash Pit next year, while summer carp around 4lb to 5lb have been ordered for the club's Northfield Main Lake for the autumn.
