PETER Line has not won a Hampshire title for several seasons - but the Atherley maestro has a double chance to put that right on his home green this Sunday.
Line teams up with young Tom Bishop and Dave Edmonds in an all-Atherley tussle for the county triples crown against Jody Bright, Jim Barrett and Mick Barrett (9.30).
Holiday arrangements meant Banister Park had to concede their semi-final to Line but in the other tie the three Bs squeezed past Chawton Park (Melvyn Sallis) 19-18 after scoring a last-end three at Banister Park.
In the afternoon Line joins forces with John Fhithyan, Alex Rendall and Edmonds for the fours against the Victory rink of Bill Taws, Barry Starks, Iain Mackenzie and Charlie Bailey, the Portsmouth men having swept past Longmeadow's Graham Hillier 29-10 in the semi-final.
Last year Line was runner-up in the two-wood triples - and the East Dorset trio who beat him are back to try and retain the trophy when Kevin White, Cyril Bransky and Bill Ward tackle Barry Bendall's Banister Park outfit.
Bendall ended the hopes of Palmerston (Roy Mudd) 19-11 in the semi-final, the Banister Park men having the lift of a first-end six as they strode into a 9-0 lead after three ends at Atherley.
