A NUMBER of extra events have just been booked for The Anvil's summer season.
The Basingstoke concert hall sees a return visit by Russell Brand in May, Jimmy Carr in June, The Robert Cray Band also in June, and Roy "Chubby" Brown in July.
Following the success of his Basingstoke date last Friday, Brand returns for another date in The Forge, at 8.15pm, on Friday, May 20, to try out further new material. Tickets cost £8.
Comedian Carr left work as a psychotherapist to become a stand-up in 1998.
In 2003's Edinburgh Festival, he sold out an entire month's performances and received great reviews.
Since then, he has become a regular fixture as the comedy face of Channel 4.
His performance, on Friday, June 10, begins at 7.45pm and tickets cost £16.
Five-times Grammy Award-winning US blues guitar maestro Robert Cray returns to the UK with his brilliant band to support his new album Twenty.
Tickets for the June 21 gig, which begins at 7.45pm, cost £22.50.
Basingstoke favourite Roy "Chubby" Brown will, of course, provide his unique brand of humour when he comes to The Anvil on July 15, at 7.30pm.
Tickets are priced at £19.
