Sir.-I enjoyed reading Joanne Mace's interview with Engelbert Humperdinck in The Monday Gazette on February 28.
I agree that he is a very sincere, honest, loving man, with a gift (his voice) by which he transports people to another plane, causing one to forget all the everyday problems and worries.
He is an all-round entertainer, and an excellent one.
I was privileged to see him in Leicester, and I am sorry I could not be at the Basingstoke concert, but tickets were not available.
We, in America, love him very much, and although he spends much time here performing, we realise his heart is in the UK.
