Sir.-The idea of turning Brook House (or Brook Hose as it has been for several years) into low-cost accommodation for the growing number of single people and childless couples is fantastic.
It will rid the town of an eye-sore while creating homes in the heart of the town where people can use many of the facilities without having to use cars.
I am surprised the Conservtives are against this. They are against building on the edge of town - as Manydown proved - and now they are against building in the centre of town.
Surely it leaves the next generation no choice but to buy a caravan and become a traveller - but the Tories are against that too!
