THE corporate finance and banking team at commercial law firm Bond Pearce has turned in a record performance for last year, having completed 100 deals valued at £2.3 billion.
Transactions ranged in price from £32,500 to £1 billion.
Southampton-based Stephen Pierce, head of corporate finance at Bond Pearce, said: "The corporate finance market is certainly more sophisticated than it was five years ago.
"There are more finance options available, and certainly more people with entrepreneurial skills and city backgrounds looking to put transactions together. There are fewer simple plain vanilla deals.''
There were several regional deals handled by Bond Pearce in Commercial Road, Southampton.
They included an £11m investment in Farnborough-based Equinox Converged Solutions, a £450,000 investment in South-ampton-based Achyra Technologies, a management buyout of part of the engine controls business of shipbuilder and support services defence contractor VT and a joint venture agreement and acquisition on behalf of Southampton-based Williams Shipping.
