Winchester police are appealing for witnesses after a man was twice viciously attacked near the city centre.
The assaults, which took place in the early hours of Tuesday of last week, left the 42-year-old Winchester man with serious facial injuries.
Police say the victim, who had been on a night out, was set upon by two men outside the kebab shop in Stockbridge Road at around 12.30am.
The attackers knocked the man to the ground before repeatedly kicking him around the head and body.
The man stumbled to his feet and tried to make his way home but, 15 minutes later, he was attacked again by the same two men, in Victoria Road, Hyde.
On this occasion, the man was bruised in the face and had three teeth knocked out.
A police spokesman said: "This was a serious offence and we are very keen to hear from anyone who can help.
"We'd like to hear from anyone who was in the Stockbridge Road or Victoria Road areas at the time of the assault and may have seen something that could help with the investigation."
