THE spirit of Rio came to Southampton when 180 school pupils took to the streets in colourful carnival costumes and danced their way through the city.
The Year 7 pupils from Redbridge Community School paraded through Southampton city centre after working with Southampton and Isle of Wight Creative Partnerships which promotes arts and creativity in schools.
Tom Enright, an 11-year-old Year 7 student at Redbridge Community School, said: "Doing the carnival project has been the best experience I've ever had at school."
