THE answer to the above question is very fast is the answer if you were at a Hampshire supermarket this weekend when an egg-chomping competition was staged to celebrate Easter.
A panel of hungry volunteers lined up at Asda's Totton branch to eat their way through bowls of Cadbury's Cream Eggs, spurred on by an expectant crowd.
For Redbridge Hill green watch fireman Michael "Shrek" Szymanski it was a chance to beat the record he set last year of seven eggs eaten in three minutes.
And beat it he did - downing eight eggs in the allotted time beating off competition from fellow fireman Marcus Hill, Asda worker Dan Portsmouth and 12-year-old Simon McDaid who said: "I don't know how he did it, I won't be touching another one for a while."
As for me, I fell at the first hurdle, only managing a nibble at one before I felt decidedly queasy!
