THE tension and drama of one of the most famous plays ever written was brought to pupils at Brookfield School in Sarisbury Green this week.
Professional actors from the Shakespeare in Schools company held workshops and performed scenes from Macbeth. Year 9 pupils learned about tricks of performance and characterisation, then watched a performance of the play to get a better understanding of its important scenes.
English teacher Neil Chance, who co-ordinated the two-day event, said: "Through the workshops and by seeing a live performance, pupils have experienced Macbeth as it was intended - as a play on a stage, not merely words on a page."
