EVENING bus services provided to enable young people to reach The Depot youth facility in Andover have proved to be a resounding success in the town - but less popular in the countryside, councillors were told at a meeting in Romsey.
The services, which can also be used by adults, were introduced at the start of the year, after it was realised that none of Andover's 10 town services provided evening buses - with only the service 7 to Salisbury and service 76 running to Basingstoke operating after 7pm.
The day time service to King Arthur's Way offers a bus every 10 minutes but nothing later on.
Since its introduction the new service 'N' which links King Arthur's Way, Roman Way, River Way, Artists Way and Tollgate Road with The Deport is used by more than 92 passengers a night.
