A WINCHESTER secondary school is basking in glory after receiving top marks from Ofsted inspectors.
The Westgate School was hailed as "very good, with many significant strengths".
For the second time running, the inspectors found no weaknesses and no key issues for action.
Teaching and learning were "of very good quality" and the inspectors added: "The school has created an outstanding ethos, which has high expectations of all involved."
Pupil attitudes were commended as "exemplary", while "behaviour is very good, and many pupils as they move through the school, are considerate of others and act with increasing maturity."
The leadership of long-serving head teacher Peter Jenner and senior colleagues was also hailed as "outstanding".
Mr Jenner said: "This report is an excellent endorsement of all the hard work being carried out at the school."
