FOLLOWING the success of last year's clubman event Kings Toyota are pleased to sponsor a brand new angling competition for 2005.

The event will be known as The Kings Toyota Challenge and follows on from over 20 years of angling sponsorship in the local area.

Organiser and Toyota sponsored angler Gary Naylor says this is a real change from the one-off qualifiers of previous years. The new series of matches will be fished at Mick Kenny's Greenridge Farm Complex on Wednesdays once a month from May to August.

Anglers will fish each canal and the series will be decided on points, with the best three results to count. Some great weights are expected on this prolific venue with 100lb being recorded throughout the summer months.

Along with Kings Toyota sponsorship of the event anglers will be competing for over £3,000 in pools and prize money in the series with the top five paid out. There are also plans for a one-off team competition with details being announced soon.

Kings Toyota will also continue the other sponsorship of local anglers Gary Naylor and Dave Higgins, who have been part of the team since it started in 1982. As part of the deal they receive bait, travel and clothing expenses.
