THIS is a play about a play being produced, the actors playing the parts of actors, and the script peppered with theatrical and literary references.
With deliberate repetitions and false prompts - as well as several actual ones (the best moment being the real actress needing a prompt for a line about actors forgetting their lines!) - the Lee Players have enormous fun playing theatrical luvvies.
This was no Ayckbourn, though. The stage frequently looked over-populated with wooden people moving awkwardly, bleating about their inconsequential problems.
