THEY may not have hit the jackpot, but a north Hampshire family had plenty of cause for celebration on holiday in Las Vegas when they celebrated two weddings in as many days.

Martin Tolson and Sally Perrin, of Quilter Road, Brighton Hill, Basingstoke, were married on March 1 - and just 24 hours later Martin's brother Keith and his fiance Isabel Jordan, of Hanger Road, Tadley, followed them down the aisle.

Sci-fi fans Martin, 29, and Sally, 31, had originally planned an out-of-this-world Star Trek-themed wedding.

Unfortunately, their budget would not stretch to the final frontier and the couple booked the Little Chapel of the West instead.

Martin and Keith's mother, Vanessa Tolson, of Fairoak Way, Baughurst, was bowled over by the big days.

She said: "It was lovely. It's a little wooden chapel and is like something you would see in a cowboy film and it was all done up with flowers inside."

The next day Keith and Isabel were married in the surroundings of the Imperial Palace hotel.

Vanessa said: "It's a huge hotel and on the fourth floor they have a wedding chapel that is beautifully laid out with nice flowers and you can choose the background. We had a Chinese garden.

"It's all very well done. Weddings are a big thing in Las Vegas and there's a lot of help that goes into planning them. We hired big 12-seater limousines to take us to the ceremonies and none of us had been in limousines before, so that was a treat."

The family celebrated the weddings by dining at the fabulous Paris Hotel, overlooking the Bellagio Hotel's fountains, one of the Las Vegas landmarks featured in the film Ocean's Eleven.
