Romsey has officially been granted Fairtrade status - making it one of the first 100 towns in the country to be committed to securing a fair deal for Third World traders.
Businesses and individuals have all helped earn the right to display the distinctive black, blue and green Fairtrade logo on the boundaries of the Hampshire market town.
Romsey Town Council had to pass a resolution supporting Fairtrade, and a certain number of cafes, shops and offices in the town had to promise to sell tea and coffee traded within the organisation's rules.
Goods branded with the Fairtrade logo are now available in various stores across Romsey.
Romsey Fairtrade Coalition group handed over a certificate to town mayor Dorothy Baverstock to mark the occasion.
