COMMUNITY policeman: Those of you who have had the need to phone the local beat bobby will know that we have not had one for some time.
The good news is that one has been nominated, but no one seems to know when he will take up his post.
A regular police presence in the village would perhaps have deterred vandals from damaging the roof of the village hall recently.
VOLUNTEERS needed: St Mary's Old Churchyard Conservation Group is looking for volunteers for its working parties.
The next one is on Thursday, at 2pm.
EASTER: Looking forward to next weekend there are several activities and events taking place.
Basing House opens next Friday, at 2pm, with guided tours taking place on Friday, Sunday and Monday, at 3pm from the kiosk.
North Hampshire Downs Ramblers Group is having a five-mile Good Friday walk around the village.
This starts at 10.30am, at the Millstone pub.
Call Tony Stoney on 479951 for details.
CHURCH services: There are a number of events taking place during Easter in St Mary's Church.
These start with a Eucharist of the Last Supper on Maundy Thursday.
On Good Friday, there will be a children's workshop and service between 10am and 11am, where hot cross buns will be served.
THE Daniel Bowler Memorial Trust: Is holding a fancy dress treasure hunt on Easter Saturday at the Crabtree Plantation, starting at 2pm.
Call Michaela Riley, on 335882, for more information.
