LATEST news: At the last meeting of the village plan steering committee, it was reluctantly decided to abandon attempts to develop a village plan.

The aim of the village plan was to reach a consensus among residents as to what manner of local development could or should be supported, and which local features should be afforded special protection, or even be enhanced.

However, the lack of volunteers on the committee was going to make the job unmanageable.

Only time will tell whether this was a missed opportunity.
