HARBOUR chiefs in Lymington are on course to start work on a new moorings project after gaining permission to drain the site.
Sixty-eight new berths will be built to the east of the Lymington Yacht Haven.
The project has been undertaken because the harbour's salt marshes are continuously eroding and providing current moorings further down river with less protection.
Work will start at the end of the year and the new moorings should be ready in April 2006.
