And the SWL's record-breaking score draw certainly didn't have either manager purring about six-y football!

"We were dreadful!" fumed Islanders boss Derek Ohren. "It has to be a manager's nightmare. How can you score six goals - especially away - and not win?

"It's very difficult to explain and I suppose that neither side deserved to win. I said to their manager Pete Moore after the game 'it's back to the drawing board then!'"

Elliott Day gave the Islanders an early lead but strikes from Steve Bernard and Pete Gardner put the Priory men ahead until Sam Hart levelled at 2-2 from the penalty spot.

Cowes took the lead in bizarre fashion just before half-time, Darren Powell hit a speculative 45-yard effort that spat up off the pitch and hit diving keeper Max Frampton on the head before flying in!

A Matt Bowler header nudged Cowes into a 4-2 lead only for the hosts to reply through Paul Rideout and a second from Bernard to tie things up at 4-4.

The Islanders moved ahead for the third time when Jamie Dyer bagged a fifth only for Rideout to conjure up another Christchurch equaliser.

They then took the lead for the first time when Ben Griffiths made it 6-5 on 85 minutes.

But, with almost the last kick, Ollie Buckett toe-poked a leveller.

There was also drama at The Cuthbury where Wimborne beat VTFC 4-2 after playing with ten men for 80 minutes.

The controversy started when Magpies keeper Stewart Kearn was red-carded after committing a professional foul on Boatmen striker Mike Spinney with only ten minutes gone.

Defender Paul Roast donned the keeper's jersey and his first touch of the ball saw him brilliantly beat away Andy Pattison's spot-kick with Spinney slamming the loose ball against the upright.

Warren Doyle gave the ten men a 20th-minute lead that Spinney cancelled out early in the second half only for manager's son Scott Arnold and Michael White to put Wimborne 3-1 up.

Ben Tyrrell pulled a goal back for the visitors but sub Dave Clements scored with his second touch.
