PUPILS at Southampton's St Anne's Catholic School are still celebrating a fantastic netball season for 2004/5.

Between the school's four teams they have amassed six cups and 72 medals.

The school's under-12 team won the Southampton School's Tournament and were runners-up in the league, and went on to reach the semi-final of the Mid Hampshire School's tournament.

The under-13 side have continued their success from last year by remaining undefeated in Southampton, retaining the league and tournament title.

Members of the successful under-14s performed well again and retained their title of being undefeated in Southampton, keeping the league and tournament cups for the third year in a row. They were runners-up in the Mid Hampshire Schools tournament and took part in the Southern Schools' Netball Tournament.

The under-16s have also had a successful year. They were third in the league and were tournament winners, losing out on top spot to rivals The Atherley.

Proud PE teachers Elly Whitworth and Angela Sleight said: "The girls are out in all weather, training hard to reach the level of play which has helped them to be so successful. We feel that they truly deserve to do so well and their achievements reflect their commitment to the sport."

CURDRIDGE Primary School's netball team has claimed a double victory.

The girls travelled to tournament hosts Upham School, along with Durley and Droxford, to play in the Omega School Netball Rally and came home winners.

Days later they competed in the Swanmore and District Netball Tournament at Ridgemead School, along with teams from Swanmore, Droxford, Ridgemead, Wickham and St John the Baptist Schools, where they were successful again.

Players are all aged between nine and 11.
