A HIGHWAYS official has made a public apology for disruption caused by road works in Andover's Winchester Road.
At a joint panel meeting between Hampshire county and Test Valley Borough councillors, Barry Armstrong, who oversees highway schemes in this area for Hampshire County Council, said: "I apologise for all the problems. The contractors struck a cable that wasn't identified and that caused us a delay - then there was the winter maintenance programme."
He had been in touch with Ashlawn House residents who are thought to have suffered from the greatest disruption. The repairs to the footpaths alongside Winchester Road are expected to be completed by the end of March at a cost of £50,000.
